Little tidbits “about me”
~Traveling warms my soul. Exploring new places, seeing God’s beauty in everything from the oceans to the mountains and everything in between. I get asked all the time if I get tired of traveling. Answer: NO. Most people have a bucket list of like 3 places they want to see. My list is too long to even list. I want to see every tiny town in Texas, I want to travel route 66, I want to see every National Park in the US and Canada, I want to drive coast to coast. I want to explore more of Canada. I’ve never been to Oregon or Washington State and I’m chomping at the bitt to explore the backroads of those states. I want to see more of South America, go through the Patagonia. Go to the Galapagos and see the Amazon in Brazil. I want to road trip all over the back roads of Europe, see more of Ireland, go to the northern part of Scotland and I have barely touched Asia. I want to see where the Vietnam War was fought and I want to lay on the beach in Thailand. I love the Mediterranean and would love to see more of it. I went to Uganda this past summer, I would love to go back and I also want to go to Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania and Mozambique. I haven’t done Australia yet and can’t wait for that. New Zealand was magical and one day I want to go back. I can keep going on and on and on….
So basically, I will be traveling for the rest of my life. I can’t and won’t get tired of it.
~VINTAGE: I love all things old. Old furniture, old buildings, old towns, old cars, old books, old people. Love ’em all.
~Taking pictures is my way of capturing the moment I’m in and being able to look back later on it and experience that moment all over again. When I look back at pics I took I can feel it, smell it and hear it. That feeling is epic.
~ I think I was a farmer and gardener in a former life. My hands in the dirt is therapeutic to me. Having chickens and other farm animals just feels right and I love that my kids are growing up on our mini “hobby” farm.
~My kids are AWESOME. I have an 18 year old son, Hunter who is off to college in his freshman year at LSU. He continues to impress me and I couldn’t be more proud of him. My son Axe is 5 going on 32. He is super smart, it sometimes scares me and his baby blues will melt hearts of every girl he comes in contact with. Addie is my youngest, she’s 4 and she has the perfect blend of my personality and my husbands. Basically I think she will be a female assassin when she gets older but everyone will think she’s a CPA or something like that. She’s a princess and a ninja at the same time. She’s awesome.
~The night I met my husband it was love at first sight. I loved his confidence but sweet nature. At the end of the night, when I left the restaurant he sent me a text that said, “This will be the last time you leave anywhere without me”. The next day he came to my house with a packed bag and he moved in. A few months later, after his twin brothers return from war and “approval” of me, we got married. We are about to celebrate 6 years and I couldn’t be happier.
~I have an AWESOME family! Everyone in my family is just awesome, I’m lucky. AND I have all 4 of my grandparents still. At 37 years old, I’m super blessed with that.
~GIVING: It’s in my heart and soul, its my love language for sure. When I can put a smile on someones face with a random note just letting them know that someone is thinking about them, that’s pretty cool. I encourage everyone to give. Whether its a text or a phone call or a letter in the mail or just a random gift. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. It could just be a card. It makes people happy and I think if everyone gave more of themselves to those they love, or even a stranger, the world would be a better place.
